Pont du Diable Via Ferrata
Pont du Diable Via Ferrata
This via ferrata is accessible to beginners and young people from 45 kg and 1.40 m in height.
Known as one of the most beautiful via ferrata routes in Ardèche, the Pont du Diable route takes you from one bank of the Ardèche to the other, crossing the Pont du Diable, a historic stone bridge full of legends.
Let’s be honest: if you could only choose one via ferrata in Ardèche, this is the one we would recommend.
The meeting point for the Thueyts via ferrata is at the Pont du Diable car park. Allow about 15 minutes of approach walking to reach the start. The Pont du Diable via ferrata is accessible to anyone weighing at least 45 kg and 1.40 m (special lanyard limit).
The first part of this via ferrata is easy, bringing you to the zip line above the Ardèche (this obstacle can be bypassed via a path). This stage allows you to get familiar with the activity and equipment. The second part of the route is longer, more athletic, and slightly overhanging.
It leads to a viewpoint overlooking the Ardèche and the classified Pont du Diable site. Midway through the Thueyts via ferrata, a 120-metre zip line crosses from one bank to the other, 90 metres above the river.
The return to the car park takes about 15 minutes. After your session, you can enjoy a swim to continue your day on the site of the most beautiful via ferrata in Ardèche—don’t forget your picnic!
